Professional interests:

Dr. Kirkman’s clinical and research interests are in the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications. She has clinical practices at the UNC Hospitals Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic at Meadowmont in Chapel Hill, NC. She is the principal investigator for several trials conducted by the research team at Meadowmont. Prior to joining the UNC faculty in January, 2013, Dr. Kirkman was Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs at the American Diabetes Association. She enjoys teaching students, other clinicians, and lay people about diabetes.
