TrialNet at UNC:

TrialNet is dedicated to the study, prevention and early treatment of Type 1 diabetes.  Relatives of those with Type 1 diabetes have a 15 times greater chance of being diagnosed with the disease than a person with no family history of the disease.  TrialNet at UNC offers a blood test that looks for certain markers in the blood that can identify an increased risk for Type 1 diabetes up to 10 years before symptoms appear.
